As Wine Bar Manager at LACMA, you will be responsible for the day to day operation and service execution of a high profile wine bar within one of the country’s most recognized cultural institutions. This role is focused on operational leadership, guest experience, and team execution. You will ensure service runs smoothly, standards are upheld, and guests receive a consistently welcoming and polished experience, while partnering closely with culinary, events, and operations leadership across the campus.
This is a hands on leadership role for someone who enjoys being on the floor, supporting the team during service, and ensuring systems, staffing, and service flow are working seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee day to day wine bar operations including service flow, staffing, and guest experience
• Lead and support front of house teams during service with a strong on floor presence
• Execute established beverage menus and service standards with consistency and accuracy
• Partner with culinary, events, and operations teams to support catered events, receptions, and donor functions
• Manage inventory, ordering, storage, and cost controls for wine, beer, spirits, and bar supplies
• Train, coach, and develop service staff on service standards, product knowledge, and responsible alcohol service
• Ensure compliance with all service, safety, sanitation, and alcohol regulations
• Monitor sales performance, labor, and operational needs to support efficiency and guest satisfaction
• Address guest feedback in real time and support a welcoming, professional environment
Qualifications
• Experience managing day to day operations in a wine bar, restaurant bar, or hospitality beverage environment
• Strong working knowledge of wine and beverage service standards
• Proven ability to lead and support service teams in active service environments
• Experience supporting private events or high volume service
• Solid understanding of inventory management and basic cost controls
• Guest focused, organized, and calm under pressure
• Ability to communicate effectively with culinary, events, and operations partners
• Alcohol service certification as required by local regulations
