Job Title: Trailer Mechanic

System One is assisting a client in hiring a Trailer Mechanic. This position is located in East Houston (77029).
The mechanic will be working on OTR trailer and Delivery Truck Equipment. Mechanics will diagnose, overhaul, adjust, weld, conduct preventive maintenance, and perform repairs on all types of equipment from flatbed to dry van and bodies as well as refrigerated truck and trailer equipment.
Qualifications / Requirements: - 3-5 years experience working on transport equipment
- ARC and Wire welding experience required
- Experience diagnosing and repairing all major brands of trailers and truck bodies used in today’s market.
- Perform all levels of maintenance and repair, on commercial truck and trailer equipment.
- Perform diagnosis and make repairs to electrical systems to include exterior and interior lighting and control systems.
- Perform brake jobs, suspension repairs to include conventional spring and air springs systems, bearings, slack adjusters and s-cam repair.
- Diagnose and repair air brake and ride height valves.
- Perform weld on door frames, sub frame, hinges, roll up doors, landing legs, suspension, spring brackets.
- Perform install of lift gates and ramps.
- Perform maintenance and repair on both swing and roll-up rear and side doors.
- Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
- Perform duties with little or no supervision and in a timely and efficient manner
- Performing all aspects of body repair for trailer and truck bodies
- Perform diagnosis and repair of all major brands of lift gate used by today’s industry.
