Job Title: Staff Platform/Backend Engineer (Python/Django)
Location: Remote (Anywhere in the U.S.)
Salary: $150k-200k

We’re a dynamic, VC-backed SaaS Fintech start-up in California, rapidly scaling and building a robust platform to empower financial services. We’re seeking a highly skilled Staff Platform/Backend Engineer specializing in Python and Django to join our remote team. This role is pivotal in shaping our backend infrastructure and improving platform reliability, and we’re looking for someone eager to make an impact.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and optimize backend features and integrations using Python and Django.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for smooth, automated deployments.
• Conduct performance testing and implement improvements to ensure a scalable, high-performing platform.
• Enhance monitoring and alerting systems to proactively manage platform health.
• Manage and maintain Kubernetes clusters.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support platform stability.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Proven Python and Django Proficiency: 8+ years of hands-on experience in backend development with Python and Django.
• Cloud and Containerization Expertise: Demonstrated experience with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes for effective application deployment and management.
• Adaptability in a Startup Environment: Previous experience in fast-paced, start-up environments (preferably VC-backed) with teams under 200 members.
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Versatile Technical Focus: While the core of your work will be backend engineering (80%), a portion (20%) involves DevOps responsibilities.
