Job Description

Our Mission

We launched _nology to address the skills shortage and the diversity gap within the technology sector. The fact that coding is creative and collaborative is one of the best kept secrets in the industry. We want to blow the lid off and let everyone know why they should be part of the tech revolution! If you love technology and people, and are passionate about sharing your passion – this could be the perfect career for you.

Launched in the UK and Australia, _nology is now seeing exciting demand in the USA and we are looking to hire our first 10 trainers on the groundin the next 6 months. Have you been thinking about a career shift within technology? Are you excited by the idea of being part of a start-up team, shaping the USA arms of a fast growing global business? _nology can provide the mechanism and support to make that transition into a hugely rewarding role training the future of tomorrow while also continuing your technical passion.

Even if you have never thought about getting into the training space, many of our best coaches were amazingly talented technical people who we coached and supported to be able to make the shift into training. With amazing benefits and career progression _nology could be the place you make that next big step in your career while also helping others do the same.

What We Do

_nology run 2-year entry-to-tech programs for people wanting to launch a new career. This starts with creative marketing campaigns to reach out to an untapped talent pool. Followed by rigorous assessment to select candidates for raw potential, not previous tech experience. Then we run intensive full time training programs, equipping them with modern, job-ready, practical skill sets – not just theory – to meet real-world needs. To that end, we actually employ them and place them on site with our clients on long term engagements, to make sure these new careers are successful- ongoing support is a critical component to making sure these new skills stick.

The Company

_nology is an international tech training organisation. Our focus is on finding people with the talent and desire outside of the traditional computer science education system, giving them intensive training and supporting them in their first role in technology. After huge success in the UK and Australia, we received significant private equity funding in November 2021 allowing us to bring our unique offering to the US!

The Role

We are looking for our next leaders to drive forward technical training within _nology in the USA. As our team grows we need the best technical leaders we can find to train and develop our trainers and trainees (or _nologists). Your role will involve a multitude of responsibilities from curriculum planning, design & management, curriculum delivery and quality assurance, trainer management and mentoring to trainee management.

A big part of your role will be to become an amazing mentor to our trainees (or _nologists) and trainers shaping the direction of how we educate tech talent and disrupting the industry for a better future. You would effectively act as a technical mentor, a social mentor and a career mentor holistically improving the people who train and come through every course, to help them achieve their career goals. You'll lead coding sessions, help them understand core development practices, and design new teaching methods and curriculums.

You'll also support them to deliver real-world client projects, as well as building out some internal products at _nology which will help us continue to deliver best-in-class outcomes for our people and our clients.

We're seeking instructors who above all else are excited by the industry and want to inspire others.

Requirements

We're looking for curious and enthusiastic technical people, who are passionate about diversity and opening up opportunities for people. You don’t need to be an expert in everything - being a coach doesn’t require someone with many years’ experience or super deep knowledge in a language or framework. We want people who have strong foundations, an understanding of how technology solves business problems, and a deep desire to share their knowledge and experience with others.
