Job Description
Join our team as a Property Damage (PD) Adjuster, where you will play a crucial role in managing and resolving claims involving commercial auto and property damages. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional to oversee TPA adjusters and vendors, evaluate coverage and damages, and handle claims ranging from vehicle to structural property and liability claims. You'll collaborate with experts across various fields, negotiate settlements, and ensure smooth communication with agents and claimants. Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise TPA adjusters and outside vendors, including field adjusters and certified public accountants, ensuring accurate handling and assessment of cases.
- Handle Commercial Auto claims involving vehicle damages, property damages, and bodily injuries, providing expert evaluation and resolution.
- Manage Commercial and Personal Property claims, including those related to building damage and liability, ensuring comprehensive case review.
- Review and interpret policy coverage to confirm applicability for reported claims.
- Evaluate damages to determine appropriate compensation, balancing policyholder needs with company interests.
- Consult with external professionals, such as accountants, architects, and engineers, to obtain expert assessments as needed.
- Respond to inquiries and provide prompt assistance to agents and claimants, ensuring a seamless claims experience.
- Negotiate settlements within authorized limits, aiming to resolve claims fairly and efficiently.
- Participate in claims-related audits to support continuous improvement and compliance with best practices.
- Prepare detailed claims reports, maintaining thorough documentation for internal and regulatory review.
Qualifications
- 1+ year(s) of experience as a PD claims adjuster/examiner or in a similar role
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional work experience
- Strong understanding of insurance policies, coverage analysis, and industry practices for property, auto, and liability claims
- Ability to assess damages accurately, interpret policy language, and make coverage determinations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with claimants, agents, and team members
- Familiarity with state insurance laws and regulations relevant to property and auto claims
- Proficient using claims management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools
