Job Description

About the Role:

Are you passionate about helping businesses grow and thrive? We're seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Planning Analyst to join a dynamic, fast-growing marketing agency. This remote, initially part-time position will give you the opportunity to work closely with our leadership team to shape the financial future of a multi-million dollar business.

As a Financial Planning Analyst, you'll play a crucial role in creating budgets, financial forecasts, and offering actionable insights to guide decision-making. You will proactively predict business trends, evaluate financial performance, and offer recommendations for operational improvements. Your work will directly contribute to the success and growth of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with our fractional CFO to develop annual budget processes and recommend company-wide financial budgets.
- Create and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reviews, ensuring smooth communication of company goals and performance across the organization.
- Prepare financial forecasts and analyze trends in sales, finance, and business operations to assess and improve company performance.
- Conduct both quantitative and qualitative analysis of operations, evaluating progress toward business goals and adjusting plans accordingly.
- Identify revenue and spending trends, working with the Controller, bookkeeper, and CFO to deliver actionable insights and recommendations.
- Review financial statements, highlighting budget variances, and providing explanations and solutions for negative variances.
- Develop a set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other financial metrics to assess business dynamics and support decision-making.
- Partner with the Controller to review the monthly accounting close process, leveraging trend analysis to improve accuracy.
- Conduct return on investment (ROI) analysis for client projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.

What We're Looking For:

- 5+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Experience in a marketing agency is a plus.
- A self-starter who excels in an independent, virtual work environment.
- Strong communication skills, with quick responses via email and Slack.
- A meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all work.
- Well-organized with proficiency in Google Drive and a solid understanding of financial systems.
- Reliable internet connection for remote work.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- A positive and collaborative team player who thrives in a friendly, people-oriented culture.

Additional Information:

- This position is remote and flexible. You can work from anywhere with a reliable internet connection.
- We're looking for someone who can commit to at least 20 hours per week. If you have fewer hours available, we'll work with you to develop a pathway to a larger role, as the workload expands.
- The ideal candidate is someone who is highly self-directed, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a virtual environment.

Why Join Us?

We are a fully remote, flexible team that values learning and growth. In addition to offering flexible work hours, we provide opportunities for professional development through monthly Book and Masterclass Club meetings, team-building activities, and mentoring sessions. We believe in fostering a positive and supportive environment where everyone is valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.
