English Faculty and Program Coordinator POSITION: Full-Time English Faculty and Coordinator of the Writing Associate Degree Program: Assistant Professor; Department of English, Division of Liberal Arts, Tenure Track; Haverhill Campus; 37.5 hours/week; MCCC/MTA Unit Faculty Position
SUMMARY: The Department of English and the Division of Liberal Arts is seeking an engaged English educator and academic leader to teach a range of English and writing classes and coordinate the Liberal Arts: Writing Associate Degree program.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Teach a variety of English and writing courses as assigned
- Serve as Program Coordinator for the Liberal Arts: Writing Associate Degree, which includes curriculum development, academic assessment, program review, and student advising. May include advising student literary magazine
- As Program Coordinator, develop and lead program-building efforts for the Liberal Arts: Writing Associate Degree, including coordinating student events and chairing advisory board
- Participate and collaborate in departmental activities
- Complete online course development and training as necessary
- Teach assigned classes on NECC's Haverhill and Lawrence campuses
- Participate in department and division meetings and activities
- Perform required college service
- Serve as academic advisor to assigned students
- Maintain office hours
- Other related responsibilities as assigned by the Dean of Liberal Arts
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - Master's degree in a related field
- Experience teaching English at college or high school level
- Demonstrated interest or experience in faculty leadership roles
- Experience using technology in instruction and assessment
- Commitment to responding to the educational needs of community college students
- Ability to teach and contribute positively to a diverse, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural student population
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Community college teaching experience
- Experience advising or managing student publications and student writing projects
- Experience with academic assessment and curriculum development
- Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)

Additional Information:
SALARY: Anticipated starting salary range is $54,029.00 - $64,292.00 (Rank of Assistant Professor) per academic year with complete fringe benefit package. Actual salary calculated in compliance with MCCC/MTA salary schedule commensurate with education and experience. Official transcripts will be required at the time of hire.
