Brief Description We are a leading aerospace and defense manufacturing company, specializing in high-precision assemblies, complex components, and mission-critical systems. Our team delivers engineering excellence to meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and compliance under AS9100 and defense industry regulations.
This Aerospace Engineer will support cross-functional engineering projects from concept through delivery, ensuring technical compliance, cost control, and on-time performance. This individual will bridge mechanical design, manufacturing, and customer requirements—combining strong project management expertise with hands-on mechanical aptitude to support complex aerospace assemblies.
Responsibilities - Assist and lead technical programs, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve technical challenges and maintain AS9100 compliance.
- Interpret and apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to design reviews and inspection planning to support manufacturing, inspection, and assembly stages.
- Support complex aerospace assembly activities, including: bearing and bushing installation, riveting and manual machining operations, application of aircraft sealant, assembly sequencing and precision alignment practices
- Utilize precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, CMM data) to support mechanical assembly validation.
- Support manufacturing readiness reviews, root cause analyses, and process improvement initiatives.
- Develop, track, and maintain project documentation—including schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and customer communications.
- Engage with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure technical and contractual alignment.
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Support or contribute to Catia model development and drawing revisions as needed.
Requirements - PMP certification (preferred).
- Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt (preferred).
- Proficiency in GD&T interpretation and application. (required)
- Experience with Catia or comparable CAD platforms (preferred).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using precision measurement equipment (required)
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
Education And Work Experience Required - Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Aerospace, or other Engineering discipline (required).
- Master’s degree in engineering management or business administration (preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in aerospace or defense industry engineering or project management preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of mechanical assemblies and complex engineered systems.
- Competent in the utilization of hand tools, sheet metal assembly, and manual machining
- Hands-on knowledge of aerospace assembly methods including bearing/bushing fitment, rivet installation, and sealant application
- Experience evaluating mechanical tolerance stack-ups and systems-of-fit
- Familiarity with AS9100, DFMEA/PFMEA, and configuration management best practices.
