Hiring Department

The University of Texas Permian Basin's Student Services welcomes applications for the position of Undergraduate Recruiter

Salary Range

$40,000.00 depending on qualifications

Essential Functions

To provide advanced professional knowledge, advice and counseling skills regarding the institutional student admission and recruitment process. Responsible to identify, recruit, admit, and enroll academically qualified traditional or non-traditional students in accordance with the philosophy of the University.

1.Identifies, recruits, and enrolls prospective students in a designated market; manages a recruitment territory; develops recruitment strategies; plans and arranges all phases of regional and local travel; conducts office-based contact by mail and phone with students, and parents if applicable.

2.Responsible for specific recruiting territories and/or special populations or campaigns for prospective students; is responsible for maintaining contact with a variety of constituencies in those areas, such as alumni, prospective students and their parents and school counselors.

3.Processes Admissions applications, including the calculation of GPA, evaluation and articulation of transcripts and makes recommendations and/or decisions on applications for admission in conjunction with other counselors and the Assistant Director of Freshman Admissions and Director of Admissions.

4.Organizes and attends Admissions events, supports and attends University special events and programs, both on and off campus to identify, attract and ultimately recruit students for the University.

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree
2. Able to travel locally and nationally
3. Possess a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

1. Bilingual (English & Spanish)
2. One (1) year of work experience in college admissions or related field
3. Excellent presentation, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills

Conditions of Employment

Schedule

Generally, the normal work hours for the university are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 - 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm with a one-hour lunch. The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department. Hours worked may differ with some departments.

Standard Working Conditions

1. Able to lift various materials up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
2. Able to bend, crouch, and reach continuously.
3. Physically able remain seated, frequently to continuously.
4. Able to remain standing up to 15% of the time.
5. Possesses dexterity abilities required to perform job duties including extensive keyboard work, operating office equipment, performing filing, and other job-related responsibilities that include extensive wrist and hand movement.
6. Standard working conditions may differ depending on department and occupation
