Job Description

We are excited to invite applications for the role of Technical Project Manager with a large non-profit organization dedicated to driving impactful projects. This position offers the flexibility of 100% remote work from select states, including Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and California.

Duration: 3-6 months, with the possibility of transitioning to a full-time role depending on workload.

Eligibility: Candidates must be U.S. citizens and eligible to work on a W2 basis (sponsorship is not available).

About the Role: In this position, you will collaborate closely with our Leadership Team to define project scope, design effective solutions, and oversee their implementation. You'll engage with both business and technical leaders to assess and enhance existing workflows, developing tools and features that align with our mission to advance Open Science.

Key Responsibilities:

Transform ambiguous project proposals into clear project scopes, goals, and deliverables.
Lead project execution in line with established project management lifecycle standards.
Facilitate discussions among project teams, adding your project management expertise to ensure alignment.
Steer solution design discussions, keeping the project team focused on scope and schedule.
Identify, mitigate, and resolve project risks proactively.
Maintain project delivery timelines and manage communications with sponsors and stakeholders.
Conduct resource analysis and develop project plans utilizing capacity management and project planning tools.
Address conflicts and, when necessary, escalate issues appropriately.
Collaborate with diverse business areas, including marketing, product, technology, and facilities, to achieve project objectives.
Work with project teams to create, execute, and revise work plans and schedules as needed.
Ensure project documentation (such as charters, scopes, resourcing, communication, and risk management plans) is comprehensive, up-to-date, and appropriately stored.
Resolve or escalate project issues in a timely manner.
Top Skills and Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in technical and process project/program management.
Proven experience managing both technical and non-technical project teams.
This includes collaboration with software engineers, database engineers, subject matter experts, business leads, analysts, and Salesforce professionals.
Demonstrated success in managing complex, multi-disciplinary software products and application development projects.
Strong background in applying project management methodologies to develop effective project plans and execution strategies.
Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
A proactive approach to identifying and resolving risks and issues, ensuring project completion on time and within budget.
High level of maturity and confidence in interactions with senior staff and setting project deliverables.
Work Hours: Our team is distributed across various locations, with core working hours from 11 AM to 3 PM EST.
