Be the anchor for your campers' experiences by building relationships, fostering community, and helping kids grow through their three weeks of adventure, creativity, and play in the outdoors.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the consistent "go-to" counselor for one camper group throughout each three-week session
  • Build meaningful connections with campers, guiding them through daily activities and group dynamics
  • Collaborate with activity specialists and unit leaders to create a balanced, fun, and enriching camp experience
  • Communicate with parents as the primary contact for camper updates and questions
  • Support the setup and cleanup of program areas and equipment
  • Participate actively in all programming
  • Help create a camp environment that encourages exploration, kindness, and personal growth
  • Attend all required staff training and all-camp events

Fine Print

  • Seasonal Position: Full-time (45–50 hrs/week) during summer, typically scheduled between 7:00am and 6:00pm, Monday–Friday.
  • Location: Colorado Springs
  • Compensation: Hourly pay with overtime at time-and-a-half for hours over 40.
  • Qualifications:
    • Age: 18+
    • Experience working with children (required) and supervising staff (preferred)
    • CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration certifications Valid driver's license (eligible to drive camp vehicles after training)
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to move actively throughout camp, supervise children outdoors, and maintain awareness in a dynamic environment.
  • Go West Camps is a drug-, alcohol-, and tobacco-free facility. Participation in occasional overnights and weekend programs may be required.
