Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Special Education Behavioral Specialist to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting students who require behavioral assistance, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will have the opportunity to develop individualized behavior intervention plans and collaborate closely with staff to ensure all students thrive.

Position Overview:
As a Special Education Behavioral Specialist, you will work directly with students to assess their behavioral needs and implement effective interventions. You'll be part of a supportive team, working together to promote a positive and safe educational experience for every student.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct functional behavioral assessments to understand individual student needs.
Design and implement personalized behavior intervention plans.
Provide support for crisis intervention and de-escalation when necessary.
Train and support staff in effective behavioral management techniques.
Track and document students' behavioral progress to ensure continuous improvement.
Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and other team members to promote a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
Maintain open communication with families, sharing insights and strategies to support students at home and school.

Required Qualifications:

A Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
A valid South Carolina teaching certification with a Special Education endorsement.
At least 2 years of classroom teaching experience in a school setting.
Experience working with positive behavior support systems.
Strong knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles.
Proven crisis intervention and de-escalation skills.
