Job Description

Service Porter Summary: As a Service Porter for our Newton Ford South auto dealership, you will play a crucial role in assisting our customers with the transportation of their vehicles for scheduled service appointments. You will be responsible for bringing customer vehicles in for service appointments, as well as delivering vehicles to customers after they have been serviced, while providing excellent customer service. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and a commitment to safety. Address any questions or concerns promptly and professionally. * Inspect vehicles for any damage or noticeable issues before/after transport. Document and report any problems to service management immediately. * Ensure vehicles have been cleaned and properly presented upon return to customers. * Communicate effectively and professionally with service department management and staff to coordinate pickup and delivery schedule updates or changes. * Assist service technicians and service advisors as needed; including moving vehicles on the dealership lot and maintaining an organized service area. * Follow all company safety policies and procedures, as well as understand and adhere to federal, state, and local regulations. * Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving customers’ vehicles to/from service appointments. What You Need: * High school diploma or equivalent. * Previous experience in a customer service role preferred, but not required. * Basic knowledge of vehicle operation/maintenance is a plus. * Friendly and professional demeanor. * Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. * Strong organizational proficiencies and attention to detail. * Ability to work independently, part of a team, and prioritize tasks effectively. * Physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy objects as required (may be up to 30 lbs.). * Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods, and comfortable work in varying weather conditions. * Valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and clean driving record. * Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screenings, as required by company policy.
