Close Date: Overview This position is open until filled with an initial applicaton review to take place after October 9, 2024. The incumbent must live in California within a commutable distance to San Diego State University upon the time of hire. The salary for this position is $20.00 per hour, 20 hours per week. Under
direct supervision incumbents perform
simple duties which are routine and repetitive. Detailed instructions/procedures/policies and research protocols are followed and are well-defined. Ability to learn and apply basic/elementary research methods and procedures; ability to follow written and verbal directions; to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position; work cooperatively with others; ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and follow basic research protocols.
Examples of research duties at this level include data collection and entry, recruiting/surveying participants in-person or over the phone, assisting with laboratory tasks, attending meetings, maintaining records and statistics.
This is an
entry-level position for incumbents who have
little to no experience working in a research environment.
Responsibilities Primary job responsibilities (95%)
- Serve as writing coach for online grant writing training
- Interact and communicate with course participants
- Provide weekly feedback on writing assignments
- Connect with course participants via email and during weekly online office hours
- Provide timely and responsive communication
- Build trust with cohort
Other Duties as assigned (5%)

- Grant writing and communication expertise and experience

- Experience working with frontline communities
