Role Overview: 

The Recording Clerk will work with conveyance documents of Land Acquisition to prepare them to be sent to the Recorder's Office at the County Level. Documents are received back recorded, they need to be logged and uploaded in our system. Work on correcting rejected documents that were not successfully recorded. Review a rejection sheet to find errors, correct them and send documents back for recording. Work on Release of Temporary Right-of-Way, Subordination Agreements, Deeds/Grants, Affidavits, Road Transfer Agreements, Easements and Judgements.

Salary : 

This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $34,216.00. Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience. 

Location : 

This position is located in INDOT’s Central Office, Indianapolis.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

• Compile information relative to the assigned program area.
• Coordinate correspondence for information requests.
• Organize and maintain current and historical files related to the program.
• Organize program reports, applications, and maintain consultative services.
• Maintain and organize program assets.
• Prepare all program related training materials.

What You'll Need for Success:

You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:

• General knowledge of the program area.
• Basic knowledge of the rules and regulations pertaining to the assigned program area and its affects upon other agency operations.
• Ability to gather and compile program materials.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to operate effectively in a group decision-making process.
• Tact in dealing with other agency personnel and the public.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
• Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
