Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

Per Diem

$28.50 - $32.08 based on experience

What will I do as a Physical Therapy Assistant for The Wesley Community?

Our Physical Therapist Assistants work closely with in our in-patient long term care residents and short term rehab patients to restore activities of daily living . A few of the most common duties and responsibilities required of Physical Therapist Assistants include:

• Help patients stretch and exercise certain muscle groups
• Read instructions from Physical Therapist
• Work directly with Physical Therapist to assist patients
• Speak with families to find best at-home techniques
• Keep physical therapy clean and organized
• Move patients from wheelchairs or walkers to physical therapy area
• Complete administrative tasks, like scheduling appointments and filing paperwork
• Teach patients techniques like balance training

Physical Therapy Assistant Requirements :

• Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
• Current New York State PTA License
• Experience in Subacute and/or Long-Term care a plus, but not required
