Piazza's Fine Foods ( an upscale, family-owned grocery store, is seeking a part-time meat clerk for our Meat Department.

Job Summary:
The Meat Cutter (Journeyman) is responsible for the precise and efficient cutting and preparation of meat products. This role ensures that all meat products meet the highest standards of quality and presentation, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Meat Cutting and Preparation:
    • Cut, trim, and prepare a variety of meat products including beef, pork, poultry, and seafood.
    • Perform tasks such as boning, trimming, grinding, and slicing meats to specified cuts and weights.
    • Prepare specialty items such as sausages, cured meats, and marinated cuts.
  • Quality Control:
    • Inspect meat products for quality, ensuring they meet company standards for freshness, appearance, and safety.
    • Manage inventory to ensure meat products are rotated properly to maintain freshness.
  • Customer Service:
    • Provide knowledgeable and courteous service to customers, answering questions and fulfilling special requests.
    • Advise customers on various cuts of meat, cooking methods, and recipes.
  • Safety and Sanitation:
    • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of meat products.

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precise cuts.
    • Good physical stamina and dexterity, capable of lifting heavy pieces of meat and standing for long periods.
