Physical Therapist
Location: Sacramento, CA 95819
Schedule: M-F 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Pay Rate: $55-57.00/hr.

Summary
Demonstrates competency in physical therapy for pediatric, adult, and/or geriatric patients. The incumbent provides patient assessments, develops and implements individual patient treatment programs, provides therapeutic interventions utilizing current and effective methodologies, and maintains effective documentation.

# of patients treated per day 4-10 (depending on eval/treatments/groups)

• What areas are they required to cover?: Acute Rehab Unit + Main Hospital (all units, most likely not ICU)
• Weekend: 1 Saturday per month required
• Holiday: If the holiday falls on M-F, they must work unless prior arrangements are made.
• Experience: Confidence in managing patients recovering from neurologic impairments like stroke.
  • Competence with SCI/TBI. Independent with evaluation, treatment, discharge planning, family training, and equipment prescription.
  • Experience in the Acute Rehab Level of Care (IRF) is preferred.
  • If no candidates have this experience, they would consider the experience in Acute Inpatient if neuro skills were strong with the plan to float regularly to the Acute Inpatient units.

Common diagnosis / Types of patients:

• Neurological Diagnosis: Stroke, SCI, TBI, GBS, Tumor resection, polyneuropathy, etc. Spine surgeries. Poly-ortho trauma. Prolonged hospitalization/debility. Fall/hip fracture/repair. Also, acute surgical, oncology, med/tele, etc.
• Acute Inpatient, Acute Rehab, Skilled, Outpatient?: Their primary placement is in the Acute Rehab Unit (ARU), a licensed Inpatient Rehabilitation facility (IRF) (3 hrs. therapy 5 days/week). Anticipate that PT will float to the main Acute Inpatient units, pending census. Depending on the PT's experience, it could be all ARU, 50/50, or all Acute Inpatient units.
