Growing together.** **Position Highlights:** + Schedule; Per Diem + Examines, assesses, diagnoses, and treats the inpatients that are the responsibility of Optum. + Admits and rounds on Optum patients, patient keeper billing. + Prescribes medications, and treatment regimens appropriate for assessed medical conditions. + Consults with and refers to specialists as appropriate. ER Diversion + Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required. + Follows established Torrance Memorial and Optum Group policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards. + Communicates directly and effectively with colleagues, primary care physicians, and transferring physicians to effect successful transfer of care with particular attention to weekends and holidays. + Will follow care guidelines in the hospital in the form of standardized hospital order sets and/or hospitalist manual. + Will discharge patients when medically appropriate and utilize hospital case management and ancillary personnel to do this as efficiently as possible. **Compensation & Benefits Highlights:** + Malpractice Coverage You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. **Required Qualifications:** + Active, unrestricted medical license in CA or ability to obtain + Current California DEA certificate + Will accept FM and IM candidates The hourly range for this role is $110.34 to $181.73 per hour based on full time employment. Salary Range is defined as total cash compensation at target. The actual range and pay mix of base and bonus is variable based upon experience and metric achievement. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
