Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-orientated and highly organized Payroll Specialist to join our growing finance team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in multi-state payroll processing and expertise in federal and state payroll regulations. Proficiency in payroll systems and interpersonal skills are crucial to this role. We invite you to apply and become a key member of our team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish/maintain employee records; ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization
• Process multi-state payroll for hourly and salaried employees in accordance with company policies and state and local regulations
• Process garnishments, expense reimbursements and benefits funding
• Audit payroll for accuracy and compliance
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
• Ensure accurate and timely filing of payroll tax reports
• Payroll Reconciliations: Perform regular payroll reconciliations to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Payroll Reporting: Generate and analyze payroll reports, including payroll summaries, wages statements, tax filings, compliance reports, and ad-hoc reports as needed.
• Compliance: Stay up to date with changes in payroll laws and regulations and ensure compliance with all applicable standards.
• System Management & Updates: Maintain and update payroll systems, including employee records and payroll software, to ensure accurate and efficient processing.
• Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred
• 3+ years of experience in payroll processing or a related role.
• Experience with payroll software, Paycom, preferred.
• Experience with processing wage garnishments.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of payroll laws (federal and multistate) and regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail, data entry and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Payroll Certification is a plus
