This position is for a Patient Care Technician (PCT) in a busy Emergency Department (ED) of a tertiary care hospital. The PCT will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, assisting with daily patient needs and supporting the efficient functioning of the department. The role requires effective communication, teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including ambulation, hygiene, feeding, and toileting.
- Obtain and record vital signs, weight, and I&O.
- Collect and process specimens (urine, stool, sputum).
- Assist with patient positioning and skin care.
- Perform basic patient care procedures (e.g., incentive spirometry, pulse oximetry, blood sugar checks).
- Transport patients to diagnostic tests and other areas.
- Maintain and clean equipment.
- Answer phones, direct calls, and perform basic clerical duties.
- Document patient care activities in the electronic medical record.
- Assist the nursing staff during emergency situations.
- Prepare rooms for admissions and discharges.
- Provide post-mortem care (as applicable).
Required Skills & Certifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider CPR certification.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Prior experience in emergency or critical care environments.
- Experience with vents/trachs/PICC lines.
- Two years of experience in direct patient care.
Special Considerations:
- This is a full-time position with a schedule of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Work in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting.

- Full-time, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
