Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Liturgical Coordinator to lead the planning, execution, and celebration of all parish liturgies. Part-time Position with flexible schedule with evening and weekend availability. 

Position Summary: Under the general supervision of and in collaboration with the Rector, the Director of Liturgy provides leadership in the planning, execution, and celebration of all parish liturgies. Responsibilities include overseeing Sunday and seasonal liturgies, coordinating liturgical ministers, ensuring adherence to liturgical norms, managing liturgical supplies, and serving as a resource to parish staff and volunteers. Additionally, this role oversees volunteer ministries, administers the liturgy budget, and collaborates with the Diocese of Phoenix Worship and Liturgy Office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Liturgy Coordination:
  • Ensure all liturgies adhere to liturgical norms and run smoothly.
  • Oversee logistics for daily, Sunday, school, and special Masses, as well as Holy Days, weddings, funerals, and televised Masses.
  • Plan and schedule liturgical seasons and rites in collaboration with clergy.
  • Manage subscriptions, vestments, and altar linens.
• Liturgical Ministries Oversight:
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and organize altar servers, sacristans, lectors, EMs, hospitality teams, and other ministry groups.
• General Supervision:
  • Provide resources to clergy, staff, and liturgical ministers.
  • Maintain a clean, appropriate worship environment, including sound system upkeep.
• Administrative Duties:
  • Manage the liturgy budget, supplies, and parish communication.
  • Serve as a liaison with the Diocese of Phoenix Worship and Liturgy Office.

Job Requirements:

• Thorough understanding of theology, liturgical norms, and the liturgical year.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and proficient in office technology.
• Ability to work evenings and extended hours as required.
