We’re recruiting for a Litigation Docketing Specialist to join our client’s Cleveland office. This role is vital to the firm’s litigation practice, ensuring accurate scheduling and tracking of court deadlines, particularly within bankruptcy matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Review legal documents to identify upcoming deadlines and requirements.
Create and update events in CompuLaw (or similar) based on notifications and docketing requests.
Calculate and verify dates in compliance with court rules.
Maintain precise and current data within the calendaring system.
Communicate with court personnel, attorneys, and staff to obtain information and resolve issues.
Prepare and distribute standard and custom reports.
Stay current on court procedures across multiple jurisdictions.
What You’ll Bring:
Background in bankruptcy law required.
At least five years of docketing experience using a rule-based calendaring system (e.g., CompuLaw, CourtAlert, eDockets).
Familiarity with federal, state, and local court rules and procedures.
Strong ability to interpret complex legal documents and apply court rules.
Clear, professional communication skills—both written and verbal.
Proficiency in MS Office; strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage a high volume of deadlines and occasional overtime.
