Basic Function

HF Sinclair is seeking a Cloud Engineer Intern for summer 2026 located in Dallas, TX. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with cloud technologies, primarily within Microsoft Azure, while contributing to real-world projects that support our digital transformation initiatives. As part of our team, you’ll work alongside professionals in Digital Platform & Connectivity, Identity & Access Management, Field Operations, and Digital Workplace, gaining exposure to a broad spectrum of enterprise IT functions while learning the following:

• Exposure to enterprise-scale Azure environments.
• Hands-on experience with cloud governance, security, and identity management.
• Mentorship from experienced professionals in infrastructure, operations, and digital workplace technologies.
• Participation in team stand-ups, planning sessions, and project reviews.

Job Duties

• Assist in deploying, configuring, and managing Azure resources (e.g., VMs, storage, networking).
• Support cloud migration and modernization efforts.
• Participate in automation and scripting tasks using tools like PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Terraform.
• Help monitor and optimize cloud performance and cost.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Document processes, configurations, and learnings for knowledge sharing.
• Work with hybrid enterprise systems supporting IT Infrastructure

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

No prior experience required; exposure to AI, analytics, or programming is a plus.

Education Level

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Required Skills

• Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts (Azure preferred).
• Familiarity with scripting or programming languages (PowerShell, Python, etc.).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment.

Work Conditions

Office based.

Physical Requirements

Job conditions require sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, talking or hearing, lifting and/or carrying up to 5lbs, pushing or pulling up to 5 lbs, climbing up to 2ft, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, perceiving color differences. Job conditions may require standing and walking.
