Head of Databricks Center of Excellence Description

Are you an expert in Databricks with a strong technical background and a passion for building innovative data solutions? We are seeking a Principal Data Architect to lead the establishment of a Databricks Center of Excellence in Spain. In this pivotal role, you will drive the creation of the center, develop technical partnerships with local Databricks entities, and deliver cutting-edge analytics solutions tailored to our clients' needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation and development of a Databricks Center of Excellence in Spain
  • Formulate and execute strategies to build strong technical partnerships with local Databricks representatives
  • Collaborate with clients to deeply understand their business objectives and data challenges
  • Architect and implement robust data solutions leveraging Databricks technology
  • Engage with senior stakeholders to secure buy-in and funding for projects
  • Translate intricate business needs into actionable ML/AI strategies
  • Provide expert guidance and hands-on support in Databricks implementations
  • Ensure the delivery of comprehensive end-to-end data solutions
  • Lead and mentor delivery teams to guarantee successful project execution and client satisfaction
  • Cultivate and sustain solid client relationships, serving as a trusted technical advisor
  • Identify business opportunities within the client portfolio to promote and upsell EPAM services

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Extensive background in Data & Analytics, with a focus on building enterprise-level data and ML/AI platforms
  • Proven mastery of Databricks, backed by hands-on implementation expertise
  • Strong experience in solution architecture across major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and skill in analyzing complex business requirements
  • Demonstrated aptitude in engaging and influencing executive-level stakeholders
  • Strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail
  • Proven leadership in guiding delivery teams toward achieving remarkable project results
  • Well-established history of nurturing and expanding client relationships
