Job Description

As a Gas Technician, you will be responsible for collecting, uploading, and reviewing data from wellfield monitoring events. You will implement tuning of individual wells based on data review and perform operation and maintenance on various liquid management systems. Additionally, you will maintain piping materials using Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) or High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and develop a basic understanding of environmental regulations related to LFG and GCCS. You must follow job-related and site-specific health and safety requirements and be available for on-call responses to GCCS-related malfunction events.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, upload to site database, and review data from each wellfield monitoring event.
  • Implement tuning of individual wells based on data review.
  • Perform operation and maintenance on various liquid management systems, including pneumatic or electric-driven pumps.
  • Maintain piping materials using PVC or HDPE piping materials and associated equipment.
  • Develop a basic understanding of environmental regulations related to LFG and GCCS.
  • Follow job-related and site-specific health and safety requirements and procedures.
  • Be available for on-call response to GCCS-related malfunction events.


Essential Skills

  • At least 2+ years of experience in landfill gas O&M.
  • Experience with monitoring pumps and gas wells and reporting data collected from the field.
  • Experience with operation and maintenance of landfill sites.
  • Ability to calibrate, operate, and maintain electronic data collection devices necessary to tune the wellfield.
  • Experience in engineering management, environmental testing, data collection, and construction management.


Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • GED/high school diploma or degree in an environmental discipline (preferred).
  • Experience with landfill gas pumps and wells.
  • Great communication skills and a willingness to be flexible and take on challenges and projects.
  • OSHA 40 or HAZWOPER certification.


Work Environment

This is a traveling role throughout the state of Georgia. The Gas Technician could work between 50-60 hours a week, Monday to Friday, with some weekends required depending on the condition of the land site. Typical hours are from 7 am to 6 pm, though hours on landfill sites may vary based on conditions. Landfill site locations include Screven, GA, Savannah, GA, Dalton, GA, and an upcoming project in 2024. Some sites are small municipality projects treated as SPS landfill sites, a mix of open and closed landfills, with some having flares but no gas-to-energy systems. Employees will receive a company truck, gas card, cellphone or stipend, and company computer. All employees are eligible to accrue 104 hours of PTO per year, with additional benefits during the contract period.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00
