Job Description
As a Drafter, you will play a pivotal role in assisting with the planning and preparation of detailed drawings. You will employ standardized drawing techniques derived from detailed sketches, verbal instructions, and notes under the guidance of an engineer. Your primary focus will be on collecting initial drawings, calculations, and design ideas from engineers to develop coherent and complete initial design models for review and modification.
Responsibilities
+ Apply company, client, and project drafting standards and procedures to draft control schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment connection diagrams.
+ Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and verify design details according to company standards and best practices.
+ Participate in a range of drawing production activities including problem analysis, layout, detailing, and drafting on projects of substantial variety and complexity.
+ Coordinate drafting activities with designers and drafters from other disciplines.
+ Communicate and correspond effectively with internal design resources and external clients and personnel.
+ Execute design changes and project drawing revisions as necessary.
+ Maintain CAD proficiency and strive to master current CAD systems.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD.
+ Experience in design, drafting, and CAD.
+ Knowledge of structural design, Solidworks, Civil 3D, and Revit.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting and Design
Work Environment
The work environment involves collaboration with a team of engineers, project managers, and design professionals. You will work with advanced CAD systems and engage in drafting activities across various disciplines. The role requires effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
