Deputy Division Chief - LA/Coastal Workforce Services Division

The LA/Coastal Workforce Services Division is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as a Deputy Division Chief (DDC) . In this critical leadership role, the DDC oversees a large, diverse team of managers and staff across our Region 1 Workforce Services offices. The DDC plays a key role in implementing and administering regional policies in alignment with statewide workforce services, employment, and training programs.


As a trusted advisor to the Division Chief, the DDC uses data-driven analysis and operational insights to recommend modifications to programs, staffing, budgeting, and service delivery to meet the evolving needs of our communities. This role requires strong leadership experience, exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement, accountability, and excellence.

This position covers a region of responsibility that currently covers the Monterrey County, San Luis Obispo County, Santa Cruz County, Santa Barbara County, and Ventura County. Position is negotiable within the administrative areas. There is a possibility of a reorganization in the near future resulting in changes to this assignment including possible changes in area of responsibility based on business needs and possible Division restructure. It is recommended that the successful candidate's office be located in or closer to the Region of their responsibility. Significant travel throughout this Region and Division is required.
