  Position Title: Director of Production

Reports To: VP, Production

Job Description:

The Director of Production will lead the planning, execution, and oversight of high-impact experiential marketing events and activations. Acting as a key bridge between the creative vision and flawless execution, this role requires a strategic thinker and hands-on operator with a proven ability to manage complex projects, lead diverse teams, and deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Spearhead the end-to-end production of large-scale experiential marketing events, ensuring the production team has the tools and resources to execute consistently, exceeding client expectations and driving impactful brand experiences.
  • Strategically design and oversee the development of a comprehensive operational plan for the production department, encompassing all logistical elements including but not limited to budgeting, travel, equipment rentals, permitting, insurance, and venue coordination, vendor sourcing and management.
  • Direct and elevate pre-production, production and on-site production processes, ensuring meticulous oversight during the end-to-end production cycle, while upholding the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety across all touchpoints.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
  • Provide leader and mentorship, fostering a collaborative, solution-oriented culture.
  • Focus on operational infrastructure to support and elevate the production team and their processes.
  • Partner with creative, client services, and business development teams to align event production with brand objectives and innovative strategies.
  • Build and manage high-performing permanent and freelance teams to ensure projects excellence.
Vendor & Budget Management
  • Source, negotiate, and manage vendor and contractor relationships, ensuring deliverables meet both timeline and budget requirements.
  • Develop, manage, and optimize detailed event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness while upholding quality standards.
Innovation & Strategic Growth
  • Drive innovation by implementing cutting-edge resources, technologies, and methods to elevate event production.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance company offerings.
Risk & Contingency Planning
  • Oversee risk management processes, developing contingency plans to address potential challenges and ensure seamless event execution.
Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in experiential marketing or event production, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Exceptional organizational, people and vendor management, and communication skills.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated experience in hiring, training, and mentoring teams.
  • Expertise in event budgeting, contract negotiations, and resource optimization.
  • Proficient in project management tools and Microsoft Office365; Keynote experience is a plus.
  • A creative mindset with the ability to think strategically and solve problems effectively.
  • Can be remote but travel will be mandatory.
