Job Summary:

Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, the Creative Director has oversight of the creative vision for the Canteen brand. This includes providing strategic direction on projects and producing impactful, innovative concepts across various channels and marketing materials while ensuring alignment with the brand identity and client expectations. A blend of creative and strategic expertise that focuses on art direction, graphic design, typography and videography is required. Considered candidates will have strong leadership and management skills, and a keen eye for detail

Key Responsibilities:

  • Visionary Leadership: Define the creative direction for campaigns, projects, and brand identity, ensuring consistency across all platforms.
  • Team Management: Lead, develop and mentor a creative team of designers, providing feedback and guidance throughout the creative process.
  • Creative Direction: Lead and inspire the creative team, provide guidance on visual and design principles.
  • Graphic Design: Design and develop visually compelling graphics for various platforms.
  • Videography: Conceptualize, shoot, edit, and direct video content for marketing materials, social content, associate and client facing.
  • Concept Development: Generate original creative ideas, develop strong concepts, and present to internal and external customers while aligning with brand strategy.
  • Collaboration: Foster internal and external relationships, understand their needs, and effectively communicate creative vision to ensure alignment of end result.
  • Budgeting and Timelines: Establish and adhere to project budgets and deadlines, ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Quality Control: Review and approve creative assets, ensuring high-quality execution and alignment with brand guidelines.
  • Trend Awareness: Stay updated on current creative design trends and industry best practices to incorporate innovative ideas into creative strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Creative Thinking: Strong ability to generate original ideas and think outside the box
  • Visual Design Competence: Keen eye for aesthetics, typography, color theory, and layout design
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication to effectively convey creative vision and collaborate with team members
  • Leadership Abilities: Inspire, train and motivate creative teams to achieve high-quality work
  • Project Management Skills: Lead multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
  • Brand Understanding: Deep understanding of brand positioning and the ability to translate brand strategy into creative concepts
  • Extensive experience in a creative agency or in-house marketing department, with a record of successful creative campaigns.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing diverse creative work across various mediums (print, digital, video)
  • Proficiency in design software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe Premiere, Figma, Microsoft Power Point
