Job Description

Before TuneCore, artists needed to be signed to a record label to sell their music online. In 2006, we democratized the industry by partnering directly with digital stores and streaming platforms to enable any musician to sell their songs worldwide while retaining 100% ownership of their music. Today, TuneCore is the leading independent development partner for self-releasing artists to build audiences and careers, with technology and services across distribution, publishing administration and a range of promotional services.

TuneCore is headquartered in Brooklyn, NY, and owned by Paris-based Believe, one of the world’s leading digital music companies. The company is one of the fastest growing companies in the music industry and is actively investing in the continued growth of the business.

We have made it our mission to best serve artists and labels at each stage of their development in the digital world. We are a company that cares deeply about our people and our creator community, advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion across all of our platforms and throughout our business. The pursuit of innovation inspires us to work hard for our artists, while collaboration drives the way we work and approach our company’s social responsibility.

Join TuneCore as we embark on the next phase of innovation in the music industry. Be part of the team that bridges the unmet and evolving needs of creators by building the tools and services that make their lives better

Job Description

We’re seeking a high-energy, strategic, and creatively driven Communications Manager to join TuneCore’s Communications team. This role is key to strengthening internal alignment, fostering culture, and connecting employees to the mission that drives everything we do: empowering independent artists worldwide.

You’ll lead internal messaging across channels, support brand and CSR communications, build industry visibility, and bring our values to life through thoughtful events and initiatives. You’ll also work closely with Believe’s Central Communications Team to ensure that TuneCore’s internal voice is aligned with broader global narratives.

A key aspect of this role is the hands-on administrative and logistical support required to make everything run smoothly. You’ll be responsible for managing workflows, communication calendars, scheduling, and coordinating events. These tasks are essential to keeping everything organized and ensuring that the strategic and creative initiatives you lead are executed effectively.

We’re looking for someone who is not only creative and strategic but also highly organized and comfortable with the operational side of things. If you’re ready to take ownership of these foundational tasks, you’ll be empowered to lead exciting communications campaigns, drive brand initiatives, and make a real impact within the company.

Being detail-oriented and able to balance both the big picture and the day-to-day will be critical to your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Internal Communications & Engagement

  • Own and evolve the internal communications strategy to align with business priorities, culture, and employee needs
  • Craft high-impact communications across channels including newsletters, intranet, Slack, executive updates, and more.
  • Act as a strategic partner to senior leaders and HR to shape and share critical messaging.
  • Collaborate closely with Believe’s Central Communications Team to maintain message consistency, share best practices, and amplify joint initiatives.

Brand & Culture Storytelling

  • Build internal campaigns that reinforce TuneCore’s identity, values, and mission.
  • Partner with the Brand and Creative teams to deliver engaging, well-designed decks and content.
  • Lead the development of materials for internal and industry-facing presentations, announcements, and executive briefings.

Events & Industry Relations

  • Support planning and messaging for internal events
  • Collaborate external-facing teams to ensure TuneCore’s presence at industry events is supported with internal visibility and context.
  • Create buzz and alignment around major product launches, artist campaigns, and milestones.

CSR & Impact Communications

  • Champion our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and DEI communications internally and often, externally as well
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to promote initiatives and show progress toward social and environmental impact goals.
  • Support narrative development and reporting around our values and mission-driven work.

Administrative, Logistics & Performance Support

  • Manage calendars, scheduling, meeting prep, note-taking, and general administrative tasks for the Communications team
  • Coordinate logistics for internal events (e.g., lunch & learns, artist performances, industry events), including setup, scheduling, and run-of-show
  • Track timelines, deliverables, and approvals to keep communications projects on schedule
  • Prepare and format presentations, reports, and internal materials in PowerPoint/Google Slides
  • Define and monitor KPIs to measure comms effectiveness; report on engagement and campaign performance
  • Maintain organized systems for documentation, assets, and internal communications workflows
  • Support continuous improvement by translating data and feedback into actionable insights

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in internal communications, corporate comms, or a related field—ideally in music, tech, or creative industries.
  • Strong organizational skills and a hands-on mindset—you’re proactive, detail-oriented, and ready to support logistics, coordination, and administrative tasks that keep communications and events running smoothly.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a strong editorial eye
  • Expertise in PowerPoint, Google Slides—you know how to tell stories visually and make decks sing.
  • A strong grasp of communications KPIs, engagement metrics, and reporting tools.
  • Experience working across departments and with external or parent company stakeholders.
  • Natural collaborator who thrives in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment.
  • A passion for music, culture, and purpose-driven work.

Education:

  • Some College, College Degree

Desired Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Exceptional Communication: Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills with a sharp editorial eye and ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
  • Visual Storytelling: Expertise in crafting compelling, brand-aligned presentations in PowerPoint or Google Slides.
  • Strategic Thinking & Planning: Ability to develop and execute internal comms strategies that align with business goals and employee engagement objectives.
  • Analytical Mindset: Proficient in using KPIs, engagement data, and feedback to measure impact and continuously optimize communication efforts.
