As a Civil/Environmental Engineer (E3) at Water Works Engineers, you will be pivotal in leading and managing high-impact projects crucial to our infrastructure development. Your expertise in overseeing the design and execution of complex civil and environmental assignments, such as water and wastewater treatment facilities and potable water distribution systems, will drive the success of our most critical projects. This senior position involves guiding project planning and design and mentoring and developing junior engineers, ensuring that our team grows and excels. Your daily impact:

  • Lead the planning, design, and execution of complex civil and environmental engineering projects, emphasizing advanced water and wastewater treatment, conveyance, and distribution systems.
  • Oversee the development of detailed calculations, reports, plans, and specifications for treatment processes, hydraulic modeling, and chemical feed systems.
  • Manage project budgets, develop cost estimates, and ensure financial feasibility.
  • Review and approve construction submittals, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
  • Conduct and supervise field inspections to monitor progress, ensure compliance, and resolve on-site issues.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and project teams to achieve project objectives and maintain schedules.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support staff, providing guidance and fostering professional growth.
  • Contribute to strategic planning for new projects and office expansions, offering insights on long-term goals and initiatives.


What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited engineering program.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • 7-10 years of experience in civil and environmental engineering, focusing on complex site development, advanced water infrastructure, or related projects.
  • Proficiency in CADD software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project), with experience in hydraulic modeling programs.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of managing complex projects and mentoring junior staff.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, effectively addressing and resolving complex engineering challenges.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Proven ability to perform both office and field work as required.
