About the Role

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) plays a crucial role in supporting the mission and vision of our organization. As the clinical leader, you will guide patient care teams consisting of licensed independent practitioners such as physicians, nurse practitioners, and other medical professionals.

In partnership with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you will oversee all medical teams to ensure optimal utilization management, population health, clinician engagement, and patient safety. Through your clinical leadership and direct patient care, you will advocate for patient-centered, cost-effective healthcare, improving access and health outcomes for our community.

As a key member of senior leadership, you will also collaborate on strategic initiatives that enhance healthcare quality, patient experience, and operational excellence, ensuring alignment with our organization's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the clinical spokesperson, representing the collective vision endorsed by leadership and the board of directors.
Collaborate with the CEO, COO, and CIO to ensure development and utilization of reliable, customer-oriented IT systems, including electronic health records (EHR).
Partner with the CEO and COO to further develop our status as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH).
Stay updated on healthcare administration trends by attending seminars, training sessions, and in-services as needed.
Occasionally travel to different locations, with flexibility for evening and weekend work as necessary.
Provide direct patient care, including obtaining medical histories, conducting physical exams, ordering tests, prescribing medications, and performing medical procedures as per clinical privileges.
Oversee managed care for patients with long-term health concerns, referring them for secondary or specialized care when necessary.
Ensure the highest standards of safety and quality in medical care, working closely with leadership to empower clinical teams with the resources they need.
Foster relationships with partner organizations, ensuring the provision of high-quality healthcare services.
Qualifications

Active MD/DO licensure to practice in the state of Massachusetts.
Valid DEA and State Controlled Substance certification.
At least three years of experience in a supervisory role, with a preference for experience in public health or community clinic settings.
Experience as a Medical Director or completion of an accredited primary care residency program is a plus.
Valid MA Driver's License.
Familiarity with electronic medical records is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills and a proven track record of achieving goals.
Strong business acumen with the ability to balance program delivery and budget realities.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $ 220,000.00 Per Year
