Certified Welding Inspector

Responsibilities

• Conduct visual inspections of welds to ensure compliance with specified welding procedures and codes.
• Perform thorough examinations of welds using various inspection techniques.
• Identify and document weld defects, discontinuities, and imperfections in accordance with established criteria and standards.
• Ensure adherence to industry codes, welding procedures, and relevant standards during inspections. Stay up to date with the latest welding techniques, technologies, and industry best practices.
• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification from a recognized certification body.
• In-depth knowledge of welding processes, techniques, and standards.
• Prepare comprehensive inspection reports, detailing inspection results, findings, and recommendations for corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of inspection activities, including weld documentation, UT reports, and relevant certifications.
• Proper documentation of inspection results and compliance with project requirements.
• Communicate effectively with welding personnel, QA/QC, project managers, and engineering teams to address welding-related issues and concerns.
• Collaborate to resolve non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
• Demonstrated experience in welding inspection in mechanical industries.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and interpret welding defects accurately.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to prepare detailed reports and effectively communicate inspection findings.
• A strong commitment to safety and the ability to promote a safe working environment.
• Capable of collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.
