The purpose of this position is to provide a positive role model for members as well as fellow staff and to create a character-developing atmosphere. In addition to working frontline this position will assist the Membership Director in planning  

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum age of 21
• Team player with personal commitment to YMCA Mission, Philosophy & Character Development Values
• People centered, service oriented
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Previous member service experience preferred

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Uphold the Mission of the YMCA

·        Maintain all required certifications

·        Take complete responsibility for scheduled hours and, if necessary, follow the appropriate substitute procedures and cover shifts when necessary

·        Follow weekly work schedule requirements as set forth by the Membership Director

·        Meet with the Director as directed

·        Assist in pool safety and cleanliness

·        Check in members to Calpyso Cove

·        Attend all staff meetings and trainings as required by the Membership Director

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to remain alert
• Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
• Adequate ability to hear noises and distinguish distress signals
• Ability to communicate verbally, including projecting voice across distance in normal and loud situations
• Work in a wet/humid environment.
• Exposure to outdoor elements
• Ability to lift 25 pound
• Noise level-High

STATUS: part-time, non-exempt

 

SALARY RANGE: $11.00
