Altro Paradiso is hiring a full time/part time Bar Assistant. 

From globally acclaimed chef Ignacio Mattos, Altro Paradiso is an Italian restaurant in the heart of SoHo and an essential New York City dining destination. The restaurant’s menu draws inspiration from several Italian regions, celebrating timeless craftsmanship throughout, while the room’s high ceilings and glimmering brass bar contribute to a lively nightly atmosphere. Since opening in 2016, Altro has garnered many devoted regulars, ranging from neighborhood residents to travelers who treat the restaurant like a second home whenever they’re in town.  

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable  Bar Assistant to join our team.

This role requires weekend availability and is ideal for someone passionate about hospitality who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support bartenders by preparing garnishes, stocking product, and ensuring stations are fully equipped for service

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, storage areas, and glassware

• Assist with restocking spirits, wine, beer, and mixers throughout service

• Anticipate the needs of the bartenders and floor team to ensure smooth, efficient operations

• Uphold all safety, sanitation, and compliance standards

What We’re Looking For: 

• Previous restaurant or bar experience preferred, but a strong work ethic and eagerness to learn are essential

• A team player with excellent communication and multitasking skills

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management

• Passion for hospitality and supporting guest-facing teammates

• Commitment to professionalism and continuous learning

Physical Demands

• The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, standing for long periods, bending, liftining up to 25lbs and moving intermittently during working hours.
